This position work with the Accounting Policy group functions including the review and monitoring of accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and SEC requirements. The Accounting Policy group assesses and integrates new accounting pronouncements to ensure timely adoption, conducts research on accounting rules, drafts accounting policies and position papers and interfaces with senior management and other groups on policy implementation efforts and technical accounting issues.
The Associate will work in the team in monitoring, reviewing and assessing the impact of emerging, newly issued or revised accounting standards to determine applicability to the Company and business units. This position will liaise with business units and others in the finance organization, as well as auditors, to evaluate the interpretation and application of accounting policies and ensure that policies and procedures are documented and communicated.
Responsibilities

Direct the development of accounting policies and procedures for compliance with GAAP

Lead the evaluation, interpretation and documentation of technical accounting issues

Consult with business units on technical accounting issues

Assist the development and delivery of policy implementation training

Document and communicate accounting policies
Job Requirements
-
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; or a Bachelor's Degree and CPA
-
At least 4 years of accounting experience (Grade will depend on experience)

Desired Skills

Public accounting experience preferably with the Big 4

Solid understanding of GAAP accounting and disclosure requirements

Ability to convey complex accounting rules and requirements to individuals and groups

Experience in writing and communicating accounting policies and procedures

Ability to manage and coordinate multiple competing priorities and to meet strict deadlines

Effective communicator (both written and verbal) and able to effectively train associates
